Awe, my name is Birk Jorgensen and Im 14 years old. My mom is swedish and my dad is from Norway. Since 5 years, I live in Cape Town, South Africa. My main interests are surfing and skating. I live a spit away from one of the best surf spots in Africa so I am able to surf a lot every day. This morning I set my alarm at 5.30 AM so that I could have a dawn surf before I had to go to school. A lot of things are different here. For instance I am into my exam period at school… I have 9 exams in 2,5 weeks time. This is the last term of the school year (school year = 4 terms) I am sooo looking forward to my summer holiday wich starts on Dec 2. We celebrate x-mas in blazing summer when it 29 degrees…

Today is October 31st and all of my students went trick-or-treating tonight for Halloween! They were dressed up in ghouls, ghosts, goblins and more! Many children in my neighbourhood came knocking at my door to get candies and chocolates.
We are in Quebec, Canada so at our school we learn English and French. My students love riddles…I will get them to pop in soon to leave you some to think about!

My children do not learn Swedish, but I (their teacher) am currently trying to learn it as I have family in Sweden about 30 miles south of Stockholm. My Swedish is nowhere near as good as your children’s English though! I have just been reading their colour poems which are excellent.
